Why didn't new Buzz tell the original Buzz to close his helmet?

In Toy Story 2, the original Buzz met the new Buzz with a utility belt in the aisle with the lines of many Buzz Lightyear toys and the new Buzz thought he was a real space ranger. The new Buzz grabbed the old Buzz after the original Buzz tried to wear that belt. The new Buzz thought all the other Buzz Lightyear toys were in hypersleep. The new Buzz knew that he would be toxic if his helmet was opened and how didn't he realize that the old Buzz didn't have close his helmet?
