Toy Story 3 for Wii please help ( all people that have passed level 3/ Buzz lightyear game level)?

Im getting very mad I have the toy story 3 game for Wii and im on the level the Buzz's game where you have the meteor shower and stuff well I get through all that but when it is time for me to use my laser on the crystals the laser won't shoot! I cannot get the target to appear it says press Z and 2 but when you press 2 it pops up and says show me what to do or give a hint i am getting so mad I have played this level for 2 days!
